Power Quickness Herald provides permanent Quickness, Fury, Protection, Swiftness, Regeneration, ~16 Might, additional incoming boon duration, and good CC with
. This build is incredibly strong on fractals such as Lonely Tower, due to its massive 600 radius boon sharing range and boon extension abilities, making it easy to maintain boons on your allies as they are spread out dealing with mechanics. Power Quickness Herald is a more defensive Quickness DPS option to builds such as Scrapper. It has less burst and damage potential, however offers significantly more supportive utility to the group.

Staff VS Greatsword
  • Berserker

  • Berserker

When playing Power Quickness Herald, both Staff and Greatsword are valid choices as a second weaponset and situationally optimal depending on the group and encounter. Compared to Renegade, Power Quickness Herald has less access to CC, with your CC from utility skills being tied to large energy costs which you generally don't want to be constantly using. This means that it is recommended to play Staff to have access to
.
If you are on a boss fight that doesn't require much CC or you are in a group that is compensating for you, feel free to play Greatsword for some extra damage. This can commonly be done on T4 fractals, and encounters such as Skorvald or Siax in fast groups that do not CC the boss. If you do play Greatsword on CMs, on certain fights such as Artsariiv, you should take
on Greatsword to instantly break 2 clones in the 33% split with
.
Please consider which weapon best fits your group based on both its needs and speed. Arguments for both are valid for almost every fight.

Dealing with No Pain, No Gain
Note that with a build like Scrapper, Virtuoso, Scourge, or Specter who can strip boons while doing their rotation, you shouldn't have to deal with Mistlock Instability: No Pain, No Gain on most fights. Although there will be some T4s where you will need to help and also on Arkk and MAMA depending on the build.
There are multiple weapons in your arsenal to deal with the instability Mistlock Instability: No Pain, No Gain and make it easier to manage the boons that the enemy will receive from this instability (the internal cooldown is 20 seconds). For fractals with Mistlock Instability: No Pain, No Gain it is recommended to run a staff with
instead of a
. The
will transfer three boons from enemies to you when you interrupt an attack. For enemies with a defiance bar, using a CC skill while the enemy is casting any ability counts as interrupting, even if there is no "interrupted" message. This can also be run on Greatsword or Sword instead of
if necessary, and the boonstrip can be procced with any skill that can CC an enemy.

As for legends that you want to run due to a lack of boonstrip in a group, the general rule of thumb is to run

Situational Skills
The flip skill of
. When activated it converts ALL incoming strike damage to healing for a short duration.
The flip skill for
. It gives the party Superspeed, while also dealing 232 defiance bar damage.
While activated this pulses different enhancements to allies depending on your active legend. Notably boon extension coming from
This has a different effect also, depending on the legend you "Consume" on. Notably
granting more boon extension and condi cleanse and
applying 2 stacks of Stability.
Shadows steps you to an enemy target. In combination with
, can be used for a variety of skips in certain fractals. Example of this is the skip to first set of adds in the Molten Bosses fractal.
Your best DPS skill. Make sure to toggle this skill on when you do your burst.
AoE Stun around your character. Useful for CCing 2 clones with a
in the 2nd CC Phase of Artsariiv by standing between them.
Often called 'Road', is often used to provide Stability to the party.
500 CC in 4 seconds through Taunt and Slow.
Can be used in place of
, and although is less DPS, does give a small heal for every hammer hit.
Blocks projectiles and is a light combo field, allowing for easy condition cleanses. This skill is used in T4 fractals with high incoming ranged damage pressure.
Remove 3 boons from enemy target.
Pull enemies together in a 360 radius. Useful for pulling adds together in Molten Boss for example.

General Rotation Guide
Energy Management
The objective of a Herald is to upkeep as many boons as possible through both
(under
) and the use of energy draining skills. As a general rule, make sure to use
in combination with
. However, if
was used in the situation of a stun break,
can be activated to fulfil the energy drain requirement to upkeep quickness.
Alternatively, on other legends, the following energy drain skills can be used for upkeeping Might (via
) and Quickness:
  1. ->
  2. ->
  3. ->
  4. ->
Remember, outside of
, every other legend has a purpose (explained below). Using any of the above skills, may cause you to run out of energy when
is used. This can then snowball into running out of energy for your weapon skills.
So Plan your play: and Plan your skill costs:.
Energy is replenished over time as indicated by the arrows to the left and right of the energy indicator. Every arrow indicates 1% point of energy gained/lost per second.
Stance management
Each stance is used for different purposes. Generally NEVER drop
due to its ability to provide both Fury, Regeneration,Swiftness and Protection outside of Might and Quickness as well as boon extension.
However, the other stance that is used is generally encounter specific. Below is a quick guide of each stance and how they may be used.
  1. :
    This is your highest DPS stance. If no other stance is required to help manage mechanics, always run this in combination with
    .
  2. :
    Will probably be your second most used stance to help prevent any skill interrupts via Stability. Try to always leave enough energy for
    . Ideally, this should be used just before your legend swap, allowing for stability to maintained while in
    .This is generally used on T4 fractals such as Chaos as well as Fractal CM bosses such as Skorvold and Artsariiv.
  3. :
    Will be used primarily for
    due to its projectile destruction. It is extremely valuable in T4 fractals, especially Uncategorised and Siren's Reef as well as bosses found in the Volcanic and Snowblind.
  4. :
    Although may be used the least, it is extremely useful for pulling mobs through
    and boon stripping multiple mobs via
    . Grouping mobs such as those found in the Elevator of the Deepstone fractal as well as the Krait during the altar capturing of Nightmare CM can be extremely beneficial for the group to cleave.
